You shouldn't have to hold your whole semester in your head. Lumen holds it for you. Every due date, every class, every study session. One app.
my real Tuesday, not a made-up one
So you open the class portal. Then your calendar. Then the syllabus PDF you haven't touched since the first week. Then your notes app, your flashcards, your planner.
Twenty minutes later you still haven't studied. You've just been looking for what to study.
That was me. Every week.
7
Seven apps were running my school year. And I was paying for every one of them. None of them talked to each other, so the only thing holding it all together was my brain at 2am.
(Never lost track of a due date? Stay with me. Because this same mess is why you can study for three hours and still feel behind.)
It's not that you're lazy.
It's not your major. It's not your professor. It's not that you "aren't a school person."
And it's definitely not you.
It's that you're holding it all in your head. Your semester lives in seven places, and you're the only thing connecting them. That's a full-time job on top of your actual classes. Of course you're tired.
Honestly, the students who care the most get hit the hardest. You try to keep track of everything, so you carry everything.
And one more thing I learned building this. Rereading your notes feels like studying. It mostly isn't. What makes something stick is pulling it back out of your head a few days later. That's the whole idea behind Recall.
Every good semester runs on three moves. Lumen does all three in one place.
Scan your syllabus and every due date lands in the app. One to-do list for every class, sorted by what's due first. A calendar, plus due dates pulled in from Brightspace.
Record a lecture and get it back written out. A short daily Recall review so what you studied actually sticks. Flashcards and quizzes made from your own class material.
A focus timer with timed steps. Grade and exam trackers. Habits and streaks. Squads, so you can study with your friends. And Lumie, an AI study helper.
...plus Study Science lessons, Lumie the AI study helper, and a lot more.

anatomy lab. this is the semester Lumen has to hold.
I'm a pre-med student with ADHD. This semester it's organic chem, orgo lab, anatomy, anatomy lab, health ed, comm, and piano. (Yes, piano. It's a lot.)
Most people see the 4.0. They don't see the seven tabs and the 2am grade math. I got really good at looking like I had it together.
So I built the app I couldn't find. One place that holds all of it, plus the stuff I kept wishing the other apps did.
I didn't build it on a whim. I've put over $25,000 of my own money into Lumen. Most of it went into research and development: digging into the most up to date research on how students actually learn best, and the best ways to stay organized, then building the app around what that research says. Lumen is run by a real, registered company, JH Legacy Official LLC. This isn't a side project I'll forget about.
And if you've seen my videos, you already know how I study. "10 things I sacrifice to keep a 4.0" has been watched 167,000 times. Lumen is that same system, turned into an app.
So it's been a lot!
I'll be honest. Lumen is brand new, and you'd be one of the first students on it. That's not a weakness. It means I read every message you send, and if you tell me what it should do, I can build it.
You don't have to do this the way I did. You don't need seven apps.
Fair. It's the first thing my friends asked me too.
I've spent a lot of time on the syllabus scanner. It shows you the exact line from your syllabus that every assignment came from, so you can check it yourself in seconds. And if your school uses Brightspace, it syncs your due dates and updates every night.
And still: take the two extra minutes to look over your syllabus. Trust it, but check it. That's true of anything.
If you're going to class and watching the announcements too, you really shouldn't miss a due date again.
Because students kept getting stuck on the price. And I'd rather you actually use it than think about money.
Here's the honest version. The AI parts cost me real money every time someone uses them. So a few of those have a daily limit. Everything that keeps your semester in one place, you can use as much as you want.
I'm one student, not a big company. I'm doing this to help people.
Nothing about your workload gets lighter from here. Midterms come. Then finals. The only thing you get to change is where it all lives.
Keep it in your head, and it's another semester of finding out about the quiz the morning of. Another exam where you studied for hours and it didn't stick. Another night doing grade math instead of sleeping.
Or put it in one place. And the first Friday you close your laptop with nothing hanging over you... you'll know. (It's a weirdly good feeling. You'll see.)
Your friends will notice too. You'll be the one they text: "wait, how are you on top of everything?"
Here's why it matters to me. College is some of the best time for connection you'll ever get. I don't want you spending it staring at seven tabs. The habits you build this semester are the ones you'll carry into med school, nursing school, or your first real job. Build ones that give you your time back.
The AI parts cost me money to run, so a few of them have a daily limit. The part that organizes your semester is free to use as much as you want. That's it.
No. Free. No Card.
Yes. It works on iPhone, Android and your laptop, right from lumenbyjonah.com.
Yes. The syllabus scan works with any syllabus from any school. Brightspace is just a bonus if your school has it.
Those are blank pages you have to fill in and keep up. Lumen fills itself in from your syllabus, then puts everything in order by what's due first. It was built by a student using it every day, not a company guessing.
Please do! Open Lumen, go to Settings, and tap Suggest a feature. It comes straight to me and I read every one. When I answer, my reply shows up right under your idea.
Yes. Grab the free semester setup checklist and I'll email you the rest of my system, one honest step at a time.
Seven apps, a blank planner, and a Sunday night spent looking for what to study.
One list, every due date, and the next step already waiting when you open your phone.
Worst case? You try it, it's not for you, and you paid nothing.
